Ginseng has been regarded as the king of medicines for the past two thousand
years. The genus name Panax derives from "panacea", the ancient Greek word for
"cure all".
American ginseng originates from the deciduous forests of North America. Its
similarity to Korean ginseng was soon recognized and it is now rated as highly
as its Asian cousin.
There are many references in the literature on the traditional use of this
remarkable herb. This is complemented by a large and growing body of published
scientific research that is providing evidence for many of these medicinal
qualities.
Simply Ginseng holds many traditional papers and several hundred research
articles on American ginseng published in peer-reviewed scientific journals, and
we regularly update our library.
The information we present should not be regarded as claims about American
ginseng, but as a balanced summary of traditional use and published scientific
research.
